- Shards of Glass
Shards of Glass
Shards of Glass
You said you would always be there,
Well ha, ha, ha
Where are you now?
We pass as if we're acquaintances,
Mumbling a silent prayer-
Laconic and lacking gesticulation,
Saying things to serve only the purpose
Of acknowledging each other.
You said you hated me suffering,
But I was the glass house and you
Were the stone that was thrown.
And down I go,
Shard of glass by tattered shard of glass-
Instead of picking me up,
You left me there in a pile
For someone else to step in.
And I'll get stuck in their foot
And be a burden for somebody else.
