Two Interactive Music Videos
In a time where everyone and their mom can throw a music video up on Youtube, the newest, most wow-making way to produce music videos is to make them interactive. In the video “Dark Bubbles” from Black Moth Super Rainbow, the user can change the sky from night to day with a wave of her mouse, or, if preferred, by waving at the webcam. As the actor trampolines through the song, the darkness or lightness of the video depends on the choices of the listener. The video, then, becomes something of a game, an experience where certain movements produce certain rewards.

Like any game, some interactive music videos can be befuddling if they are not prefaced with directions. Exploration is much hoped for, which can be witnessed in the French electronic artist Emilie Simon's release of “Chinatown”. The inter-actable video is more than a bit blase until one clicks on the octopus.
